Myst Auto is run by one person, me. This is how my interest in cars developed and why I approach every vehicle carefully.
I got into cars properly after passing my driving test. I did not grow up around a garage or have anyone teaching me the trade. I started with my own cars, doing basic jobs like brake pads and servicing, then gradually taking on more as I learned.
I started with basic jobs such as replacing spark plugs and carrying out maintenance on my own vehicles. From there, I gradually took on more involved repairs, learning through research, hands-on experience and solving problems as they came up.
I have basically learned by doing ever since. Every car I have owned or worked on has added something to what I know now.
My interest in remapping properly began after having my own Mercedes C350 V6 tuned by EcoMax Tuning.
I already knew the car well, so being able to feel the difference that the right calibration made completely changed how I viewed ECU tuning. It stopped being something I was simply curious about and became something I wanted to understand properly and eventually offer myself.
Before starting Myst Auto, I spent time buying damaged, faulty and non-running vehicles, repairing them and selling them on.
It was not always straightforward, but it gave me valuable hands-on experience. I had to investigate faults, work out what was wrong and make sure each vehicle was ready to return to the road.
That experience is one of the reasons diagnostics remain an important part of how I work today. Whether a customer books a remap or needs help with a fault, the vehicle and its condition always come first.
I eventually decided to turn my interest and hands-on experience in vehicle diagnostics and tuning into a business. I built Myst Auto around a straightforward approach.
